1826: Ira Peck's day book shows William and Everard Hamilton. William is linked with Edmund Dupree and with a Mrs. Bryan, a Mrs. James Bryan, Wm. Hunter, and the estate of M. Exum. James Bryan, son of Susan, was married to Rebecca Exum. Everard Hamilton is linked with S. D. Jones, and Mr. Floyd. Everard's wife was a Floyd; the only Floyd in Twiggs in 1830 was an Elijah Floyd, whose relation to Everard's wife is inknown.
1830: Census shows William Hamilton and his second wife, Elizabeth Hamilton. There is a dau. b 1815-20, presumably Mary Bryan Hamilton, also four children born 1820-25, and 2 born 1825-30. David Blackshear Hamilton, aged 14, is not in the census. The census also shows a moman aged 20-30.
Everard is not in the 1830 census.
By 1840 the Hamilton family had left Twiggs.

Elizabeth Oliver died in Twiggs County, GA sometime between 1835
and 1840. She was married to James Shine Miller I believe in Jones
County, North Carolina where he was born. James and Elizabeth had 3
children. The names of 2 are Sarah F. and Mary Elizabeth Court.

they have a son <5. The L. instead of S. may just be a transcription

In Reply to: Susan Birdsong in Twiggs Co. GA, 1830-50 by Sandy Hodges Thomas Jackson Birdsong's mother was Rebecca H. Bass. My grandfather Harvey F. Birdsong was Thomas' great grandson. Thomas was married to Nancy? and had the following children: John J., William, Banjamin F., Robert and Rebecca J.. He then married Michel Wall and had the following children:Henry Thomas, Merritt, David L., Martha J.,Nathaniel, and Floyd. I do not have any record of a Susan Birdsong married to anyone named Hodges. Thomas had a sister named Susan Ester she was born about 1808 and she married Joseph S. Wills. |
