The goal of the Single Adult ministry at First Assembly is to provide an opportunity to fellowship with single Christian adults within our church family. This ministry provides a safe environment for emotional support among our singles. The Single Adult ministry also allows our single adults to socialize with others who have common concerns, needs, and goals. The First Assembly Single Adult ministry meets on a monthly basis for various planned activities.
The Single Adult Ministry of First Assembly is a member of SCOPE (Single Christian Outreach Partnership Event). SCOPE is a network of churches in Lufkin, including First Assembly of God, Carpenter’s Way, Denman Avenue, and First Methodist, that encourages Christian fellowship among various denominations. This creates a safe Christian atmosphere where Christians can socialize. SCOPE activities are scheduled every quarter with each church alternating in the sponsoring of the quarterly activity.
The Burton/Fondren Home group is considered to be a part of the single adult ministry at First Assembly since it is a home group specifically for single adults.
