Oklahoma lost a link to its Indian past with the passing
of "Woogie" Watchetaker. "Comanche Legend"
is a tribute to a leader who was able to live in the modern world
while keeping his traditional ways.
It is a time of great sorrow when Indian people must
say goodbye to an elder who was an example to the youth and a
respected spokesman for his people. Such a man will be remembered
with pride whenever Native Americans get together for traditional
ceremonies and dances.
